Cal-Expo meet fills key positions

Sacramento, CA -- The
Sacramento Harness Association, who will be the new operator
of Cal-Expo Raceway, beginning September 23, has announced
the hiring of local television personality Gary Gelfand.
"Gary will host the nightly inter-track broadcast, as well
as anchor our weekly Comcast Sports Network television show,
plus host our weekly radio show each Saturday morning on
KHTK 1140, the sports leader in Sacramento," Chris Schick,
general manager of Sacramento Harness, said.
Gelfand was previously the sports anchor and host of “Good
Day Sacramento” on KMAX-TV in Sacramento, and prior to
arriving in Sacramento he anchored for CNN Sports
Illustrated in Atlanta.
"We are extremely fortunate to get a broadcaster with Gary's
talent," Schick said.
In addition, Janet Burnett, formerly of the Sacramento
Union, has been appointed director of marketing, and Sharee
Green has been named director of group sales.
Former U.S. Trotting Association director Robert Gordon will
also join the group, as director of backstretch operations,
and Sandee Baker will be in charge of new owner development
and owner relations.
