CHHA ANNOUNCES Fall Incentive Program

Fall Starters Purse September 12, 2008 through October 11, 2008
 
Each racehorse that starts in a pari-mutuel race during the period from September 12 through October 11, 2008 shall receive a STARTERS PURSE in the amount of $250.00 for each start with a maximum starter purse payment of $500.00 per each eligible horse. 
 
Any horse that receives any purse from the New Horse Incentive Purse program is not eligible to receive the STARTERS PURSE.

The $50 starter purse program will go into effect beginning with the fall meet paying all starters who finish 6th or worse IN A NINE HORSE FIELD OR MORE per the original CHHA/Cal Expo agreement.  Any horse who receives a $250.00 starter bonus will not receive the $50.00 starter bonus for that start

New Horse Incentive Purse September 12, 2008  through  December 20,2008
 
Each racehorse that starts in a pari-mutuel race at Cal Expo that has never raced at Cal Expo but has raced at another pari-mutuel racetrack or fair in the United States or Canada in 2008, shall receive the following amount in the NEW HORSE INCENTIVE PURSE PROGRAM:
 
A total amount of $1,500 will be deposited into the owner’s account in two installments.  $750 will be deposited into the owner’s account upon the new horse’s first start between September 12 and December 20, 2008 and $750 will be deposited into the owner’s account upon the new horse’s fourth start before December 20, 2008. 

Each new horse that plans to participate in the new horse incentive program must have a written authorization from the Cal Expo racing office that their horse is eligible for the program and the written authorization will be delivered to the Cal Ex po Paymaster of Purses.
 
If an authorized new horse is claimed on the first, second, third, or fourth start, the owner of record of the horse on the first start shall receive the remaining half ($750) of the new horse incentive purse provided the new horse races a fourth start within the time period. CHHA and Cal Expo shall collectively approve all horses that will be paid in the new horse incentive purse program. All trainers must apply for their participation in the new horse incentive purse program by filling out a stall application with the new horse clearly marked.  At that time if the horse is approved, the trainer/owner will receive a written authorization stating the racehorse qualifies for the program. All horses must be approved by CHHA and Cal Expo prior to shipping to Cal Expo. 
 
Cal Expo and CHHA may modify and/or cancel either or both programs at any time for any reason provided both parties are in agreement to modify and/or cancel both programs. 
 
No monies shall be deposited in any owner’s accounts for both incentive programs. Owners receiving the New Horse Incentive Purse shall not receive a starters purse but are eligible to receive the starter’s bonus of $50 as outlined in the current CHHA/Cal Expo racing agreement.
